About brand
Founded by Calvin Quallis in 2014, Scotch Porter was inspired by his family's barbershop legacy. Growing up watching his father and grandfather serve their community through barbering, Quallis recognized that Black men needed premium grooming products that actually worked for their hair texture and skin. He started with beard care — formulating sulfate-free, paraben-free products with biotin, marshmallow root, and stinging nettle that cleansed, conditioned, and strengthened simultaneously. What began as a direct-to-consumer brand quickly earned placement at Target and Walmart, making premium clean-ingredient grooming accessible at scale. Scotch Porter has since expanded into hair care, skincare, and wellness supplements. The brand is named after Quallis' grandfather, a barber who embodied the pride and craftsmanship that defines the Scotch Porter ethos.
