Carrot

Brand Story

Carrots by Anwar Carrots is a Los Angeles-based streetwear label founded in March 2015 by Anwar Washington — who legally changed his last name to Carrots, the nickname he earned in high school for his red hair. Born in Trenton, New Jersey, and shaped by his years immersed in the Fairfax Avenue streetwear scene in L.A., Anwar is a founding figure of the West Coast creative collective that helped define the next generation of streetwear culture. Before launching Carrots, he co-founded Peas & Carrots International in 2007 alongside friends Joshton Peas and Casey Veggies — a streetwear brand and music management collective ahead of its time. Carrots by Anwar Carrots emerged from that foundation as a more focused, more personal expression: bold colors, pop-graphic-driven designs, and an unmistakably joyful Los Angeles energy. The brand has grown to include collaborations with Puma, Crocs, Evian, Champion, K-Swiss (where Anwar serves as Creative Director of a premium line), and Walmart. Colorful, community-driven, and deeply rooted in the music and art of the streets, Carrots is not just a brand — it’s a reflection of a lifestyle.
