Artist Story
Greg Breda is a California native living and working in Los Angeles. His paintings navigate the space between figuration and abstraction, employing distinctively painterly brushstrokes to explore the resilience, strength, and beauty of the human spirit. Sourcing media, memory, and spiritual identity, Breda constructs works of quiet contemplation — the eternal ‘internal’ set against backgrounds that shift between abstraction, minimalism, and lush landscapes. He often references ancient text, nature, and the language of flowers to ascribe symbolism and metaphor. His work is held in public collections at the Columbus Museum of Art, LACMA, Studio Museum in Harlem, and the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. He has exhibited at Frieze LA, Art Basel Miami, LACMA (Black American Portraits, 2021), and is represented by Patron Gallery (Chicago/NYC). No direct shop — contact gallery for pricing.
